How long will it last during a power outage?

For reference, a 16 kWh Volthium system could power a home’s essential loads for approximately 15 hours, including the internet, a refrigerator, a freezer, a TV, five lights, one outlet, a coffee maker, a toaster, a 1/2 HP sump pump, and a 24,000 BTU heat pump. The average duration of a power outage in Quebec is approximately 3 hours.

Each system is already ready to receive solar panels thanks to its integrated solar inputs, and can also be connected to a generator.

When a generator is plugged into the input provided, the Volthium system automatically detects it: it switches the loads to the generator and recharges the batteries without any power outage. Everything is done instantly and fully automatically, ensuring continuous comfort even during long outages.

These systems are compatible with the Hydro-Québec E 12.07 standard (in effect since January 2025), which makes them eligible for future solar subsidies announced by the Crown corporation. All you have to do is apply for a self-producer with Hydro-Québec to take advantage of these advantages.
