Volthium's 12V400AH LiFePO4 ABS battery in 8D format is manufactured specifically for boats, sailboats, motorized vehicles and industrial applications.
The Volthium 12V400AH batteries, with or without integrated heating system, is ABYC compliant, including clause E-13, regarding communication.
Indeed, the battery integrates the communication allowing the customer to define an audible and visual alert before the batteries fall into protection. Using their cell phone and the Volthium Monitor application, the customer will be able to set an alert for a specific %SOC, of their choice, in addition to setting a warning alert for high temperature, and low temperature. This feature is available on multiple Volthium Batteries. In addition, the 12V400AH batteries are CSA UL1973 certified.
The battery is designed for energy storage banks ranging from 5kWh to 20 kWh.
These batteries have the particularity to have an accessible and reserved chamber for the BMS.
This makes them repairable in case of need, and allows to extend the life of the cells by limiting the transmission of heat to them. In addition, a private BMS room increases the usable temperature range of these batteries.
This lithium battery has an integrated cooling system that allows the heat to escape from the battery via its conductive aluminum plate. Once again, the heat sink further increases the usable temperature range,
while promoting better performance of the integrated BMS. In addition, an additional cooling system can be attached.

This new generation of batteries is also equipped with a stainless steel 304 UL button, which allows to deactivate the discharge, while leaving the recharge authorized. Extremely, practical when the customer wants to leave the batteries connected to the solar system during storage, while eliminating the fear that they will be flattened by parasitic discharges.
This brand new battery, whose casing is exclusive to Volthium has 2x RJ45 ports, whose pins are gold plated, allowing communication on the RS485 protocol. This connector is also used to transmit the internal information of the batteries to the Victron Venus OS environment (on their VE.CAN protocol).

In addition, the RJ45 connector allows you to add the Volthium bluetooth transmitter, which can handle up to 4 batteries when paired with the HUB.
Not only is this LiFePO4 battery resistant to vibrations, but it has a discharge range superior to the competition. In fact, this battery can be discharged down to -30 degrees, instead of -20 degrees for the competition. And if you choose the self-heating option, it can be recharged down to -40 degrees. This innovation is possible because the cells in Volthium batteries come from the automotive industry.
Exclusive Double Self-Heating Technology
The battery is equipped with two internal heating systems. The traditional intelligent system is activated when you apply a recharge to the battery when it is below zero. The second system, called manual, is activated when you apply a voltage to the positive H+ connector (M6) of the battery. This heating system, called manual, is not automated. If you connect the positive terminal of the battery (M8) to the H+ connector (M6) of the battery with a small piece of cable, it will be triggered using the energy of the battery.
